Red Dead Redemption and RDR2 are packed with missions that go beyond gameplay—they hit emotionally, tactically, and sometimes philosophically. Whether it’s the chaos of The Assault on Fort Mercer, the heartbreak of Our Best Selves, or the surreal calm of A Quiet Time, every player has that one mission they never forget.

So let’s hear it:

  • What’s your favorite mission?
  • Was it the story, the setting, the survival logic, or something personal?
  • Did it change how you play—or how you see the game?

Drop your pick below and tell us why it matters. Bonus points if you’ve replayed it just to feel that moment again.

In the first game: John’s last stand. The first time I felt a game ever said to me: “You did everything right, but it’s still not going to go your way.”

In the second game: the cough in the beginning. I had done a report on the mythos of the wild West while in highschool and knew exactly what was happening when it did.
