Google owns the HTML5 model. Anyone who says otherwise is just kidding themselves. The standard and specs are too broad for anyone without a boatload of cash to keep up with.
So I decided to go with a standard that wasn’t as convoluted. . . Markdown.
Not going to lie, I vibe-coded the entire thing. And baked in a couple modifications to the standard as well:
:Aligns text right and :centers text:
It also auto-numbers lines starting with . .
I’m just curious if this community is AI-friendly, or if I need to post elsewhere.
It browses markdown and politely declines all HTML content. Written in Python and uses Pyglet as its rendering engine.

So, Gemini protocol but vibe coded?
I kind of don’t get what Gemini and OP are going for.
As someone who can write very basic HTML, it seems like it isn’t the tool that’s necessarily broken, but how it’s used. If you want to build a basic page with formatted text and nothing tracking users, you can. The problem is that the people creating the content don’t necessarily WANT that simplicity. And so then aren’t these things just being made for people who can probably already write the pages they want to see without a new dedicated protocol or browser?
Maybe it’s just more a philosophical position and I get that, I guess. I’ll read through the rest of the Gemini faq later.
I think the point is to have a system in which the simplicity is enforced, kind of like how some cafés ban electronic devices.
