Today’s game is some Mario Kart 64 (specifically the Spaghetti Kart version). I’m finally home back to my big fancy gaming rig. I was meaning to get to some Prey today, but i was wiped and even while playing Mario Kart i was passing out at the Wheel. Toad is lucky he wasn’t in an accident with me driving. Somehow, despite that though, i managed to come in first on 150 CC. I’ve always struggled a bit with anything over 100, so seeing this obvious progress is nice.

While crossing the finish line i had some shells i threw over the finish line. I swear racing games always have some tradition i try to commit too while finishing a race. On Mario Kart Wii i’d always try to ram into the wall as i finished. I can’t remember if i ever did it, but it was a fun thing to try and do.

I also did Koopa Troopa beach, which is the course i remember the most growing up. I have fond memories of playing this with my Sister on the Wii VC and N64 and i’d always beat her because i could hit the shortcut on here. She was furious and we got into many arguments over this game, as Siblings usually do.

There was the final course, which i’ve talked about it a bunch and I’m sure it needs very little introduction to people who know Mario Kart. I loved this course growing up because i though trains were THE hot shit. I used to go on the tracks just to follow the train. Even though on this version i don’t think it counts as completing the race. I ended it here as i don’t want toad to be pulled over for falling asleep at the wheel and i myself was feeling exhausted. I wouldn’t be surprised if it showed here.

They really are. Mario Kart in general i’m pretty sure was designed to destroy friendships
