KDE, Gnome, Gamescope and now Wlroots already have a working implementation of the protocol.
Not so fast, we still need a complete accessibility protocol on wayland, and wine/proton need to be running wayland natively.
Then we’ve really won.
(also we need to get enough users that anticheating linux stops)
