Time, my last hold out is my main gaming rig, I have it set up exactly as I want it and I don’t want to rewrite the entire thing.

Well the last good windows is dead.
Once windows 10 is dead I am full Linux, I have already begun the transition, any time I have to install a new Os it’s now fedora 40.
In another timeline No Mans sky was called Star Citizen and StarField was cancelled.
I disagree, wishing for a company that is objectively bad for society like Tobacco, Third party drug companies, housing investors, etc… is perfectly reasonable.
I also think wishing dose nothing and there real problem is often well earned negative press.
If you don’t want negative press don’t do anti consumer things and don’t blame a vague nebulous them as a boogeyman to place blame on just because you couldn’t play by the rules.
You rose to power during the rise of the internet you have no excuse you knew it was always like this, you just made shitty decisions that made society turn against you.
In other news they used to make good single player game and now they don’t.
Personally I don’t give a flying Fuck what the law says, breaking copyright is the only thing preventing the world from being more of a dystopian nightmare with subscription mice and trains that break down if you take them to a mechanic and I can’t wait for someone in china or India to take the Open source code and make a better emulator.
If you have to choose an evil monopoly hell bent on world domination and bloodshed you might as well choose steam at least they are owned by a private individual instead of a hive mind distilled from the pure greed of capitalism.
Considering the president that rocket league set, I would agree.
First things first, unless you are strictly mailing yourself or you plan on having discussions with google/microsoft/apple… dump the mail Idea, Trust me it’s not worth it and probably won’t work.
Second for what you want almost everything will be held in ram and the drive won’t matter except boot time, I say almost because you want a samba server so the question quickly becomes how much data do you have and how much money are you willing to spend. I would make the argument that the boot drive should always be ssd but the rest is a matter of patience and money
TLDR: don’t bother with Email, boot is ssd and reset hdd unless you’re rich or not much data.
No, but you might notice programs get more responsive as time goes on, ofc if people use it wrong you might see more freezes and system crashes.
This has got to be a good thing for emulation, forwarding api calls can happen in real time now, that would make it entirely more responsive and might be indistinguishable from running on bare metal.
From my understanding 99.999% of those “Game ready drivers” are patches for machines that you do not use but have to download anyway to keep everything on the same version.
Why can’t you just use a contemporary version?
Certain unnamed companies coughgoogle doesn’t like to trust Let Encrypt its definitely not an abuse of an illegal monopoly they have good reasons I promise.
But the whole point behind using a signed certificate is that other people can look at you and immediately know you are who you say you are if a company doesn’t trust you it doesn’t really matter what the motivation is you might as well use a self signed certificate.
Paid certificates have the money to make sure everyone trusts them and has a reputation to maintain so are more likely to defend a legitimate complaint.
99.999% of individuals it simply doesn’t matter(although you might have to look into it if you’re using android apps) but to a company the little bit that certification costs is worth every penny.
Learn NGINX that is the only answer, it’s a B!+€# to get configured but once you know how it will save you so much time, If you want cheat mode run the docker image and use the web interface but make sure to rtfm there are some gotch ya’s
One way of looking at this is windows has a virtual monopoly on desktop OS’s a better way is Unix like operating systems make up almost a third of all operating systems globally before considering servers.
The un along with other governments are requiring all software including open source to be validated by a 3rd party security audit, C is notorious for its memory leaks and so switching to Rust is almost legally mandated but C is the foundation of modern society and switching will literally require rewriting linux from the ground up since Rust didn’t exist when it was made needles to say developers are not happy having to essentially learn a new language and start from scratch only harder because they can’t change anything they just need to rewrite it in another language and get nothing in return but happy bureaucrats as happy as bureaucrats can be anyway.
I think that point either was steam deck or will be steam os 2.0
I won’t waste to much time on a generated question but businesses become monopolies by being better than others or one of the ones would have became the monopoly then when they have no competition they can get as bad as they like(NOTE: better doesn’t necessarily mean better for you it could mean better at collecting payments or better at logistics but better nonetheless)
And the fact of the matter is nobody likes competition so they all try too work around it.
I am not Buying a $500-$1000 console for one game, I did that once for blood Born it’s old obsolete takes up space loud and just another machine requiring updates, I’ll just replay Elden Ring until I die.
