Where would one get it to put on a steam deck?
Hey, thanks for reading my bio. You know, you’re pretty cool. I’m glad we got to share this moment together.

Where would one get it to put on a steam deck?
Dang, this makes me want a laser cutter…

Damn. I need to learn how to use git.

Hell yeah, Jam2Go!

Sweet! Single-file looks like a decent workaround for those links that get locked behind captcha when they’re being saved. Always frustrates me when I go to review a link and it turns out it only saved a cloudflare redirect lol

This is neat, I’ll check it out!

Why the hell does a skating game need kernel-level anticheat

Was going to say Obsidian, but upon verifying, realized that it’s not actually open source. Interesting.

Quit discord last year. Moved my core friend group onto Signal. Video streaming sucks but it addresses most of my other concerns.
Potential alternatives and their issues:
Guilded: owned by Roblox, faces same data/privacy concerns
Discourse: backed by venture capital, same as above
Revolt: slow development, no game streaming, otherwise decent
Matrix: high technical barrier of entry, but promising.
If you’re looking to kick discord as well:
For game streaming, try Parsec (with their echo cancellation trick)
For movie/video streaming, try Hyperbeam.

I like this perspective. Wish there were more implementations of a biometric + password combo.

This looks neat. Great writeup!

Shit, that was good. Maybe making the switch will help reduce the amount of ambient doom I feel nowadays.

No, closest thing is to join a datahoarder group and trade when needed.
Although with LinkWarden gaining popularity, something like this developing is a possibility.

Matrix does not have seamless desktop sharing or voice chat, and has a drastically higher executive cost. It also does not solve the information silo issue.
The fediverse as a whole is promising but likely needs to mature a bit longer. Theres a lot of potential issues that have yet to be worked through.

Yeah, this is a big part of why I stopped using discord recently. Not yet sure of any alternatives but leaving is step one.

Oh, I need this thread. I’ve been all over the place ever since Mint shut down.

I’ve been trying to find a more privacy-friendy alternative to Discord but I keep coming back to the issue of screen sharing. No other platform does it as smoothly.
The best I’ve found is using Parsec with some virtual audio cables to avoid voice feedback.
I like the UI. I’ll give it a test run when I find some time
