My point is Windows is an ecosystem enabling totalitarian regimes and exposes all user privacy to corporations. Developing anything for Windows-only strengthens that ecosystem and is thereby anti-humanity, antidemocratic and just overall an awful decision.
Windows only - no interest.
yeah, proper facepalm there… hello Winsucks Recall…
That falls under convenience. Getting others to leave corporate bullshit malware and/or spyware takes effort (and I know very well how frustrating it is). Personally I refuse to use discord or FascistApp (I guess with the recent policy changes that name is warranted) etc with all the implications that it has.
Been using matrix since forever :) But the dissing of shitty corporate centralized applications is necessary because way too many naive users still give their data away for convenience.
Fuck discord. Proprietary spyware. That shit isn’t getting on my computer anytime ever.
Thank you. Fuck that piece of shit.
yes. about three fiddy…
Should be, but I am afraid that our system encourages corrupt people to seek positions of power.
Until the next corrupt politician… but yeah, let’s hope Linux stays, this time around.
Nope, not Germany. The city of Munich, and it was rolled back because a politician took Microsoft bribes and drank the Microsoft snake oil.
Well - if people still trust any piece of software coming from Epic…
is “easy anti-cheat” a brand name? Or was that just your wording?
You’re essentially allowing different game companies to install a rootkit on your computer so you can play a video game.
Put like that, makes it even more obvious how insanely stupid slash desperate slash addicted some gamers are, doesn’t it?
Only if those other partitions are not encrypted. Sure, it could still wipe them - but that’s something that backups are good for, and something you would certainly notice immediately :)
Big red button might help, but when I’m “in the zone” with coding, normally I forget everything around me :) One moment I’ll be browsing the web on my leisure time, and then I have an idea for one of my work projects, switch to that and “wake up” 8 hours later with lots of stuff done and no idea when I “clocked in” - that’s usually when I do “ls -lR” on my project folders and check file timestamps :D
The problem is working on different computers & sometimes switching back and forth between private time and work time. That’d require actual button presses or something to “clock” in/out
It used to be a legitimate choice to publish for Windows. Even when Microsoft started trying to force every private file into the cloud, I wouldn’t have chosen such drastic words. But with the fall of the divided states of america to an authoritarian regime of rapist / pedo billionaires, if you still develop for Windows, where do you draw the line? Gas chambers? And my objection to Windows is not because of Microsoft. It’s because of being the government system, that the totalitarian government has its hands on all kinds of backdoors and will use them to sabotage democracies whereever they can.
