I listened to it as podcast, thanks to NewPipe. But yeah it is one of their longer videos.

Yes for the basic thing most people buy it and it is this fucked up. Also it uses Google maps, they are bit useless for cycling.
I have more mapping apps and all of them have offline planning.
Sorry not native speaker, thanks for correction.
Thanks I give it a try, problem for me is that I need to plan route and then put it in cyclocomputer. I don’t need any other bs.
I would like to find alternative to Garmin app. It is bad if you don’t want to use the cloud features, also you can’t plan routes without internet connection like wtf that’s the only reason I bought it for.
I also think that this may be more of unintentional advertising for NCD community.
Simon Tatham’s Puzzles
F Droid app that is regularly updated. It has 40 puzzles with weird names this one is named Keen.
It is little bit more buggier but it may be the hardware and I can’t get it with xfce.
I don’t want to mess that deep in the system, just get it to my favorite theme and leave it be. So it is basically out of the box experience.
Which flavor did you choose? I am now rocking basic mint with XFCE on my older machine and LMDE on newer.
The sigma has lots of weird quirks that the phone solves. Like you need their app to put routes in it, you need wifi to generate it, sometimes it makes weird spaghetti route…
I just don’t want my phone connected to it on multi-day biketour.
I use it with ROX 4.0, I have full maps in phone and when I see that the pre-planned route is bad I check it on the phone.
With this use it can do 2 - 3 days of riding. But with navigation battery is dead in 3-4 hours.
Still this setup is about 4x cheaper than basic Garmin.
I use my Galaxy S6 as dedicated GPS/maps head unit for my bike (Garmin is too expensive).
To get newer maps I had to reflash the rom to some hacked together Lineageos. With Odin/heimdal tool it was basically foolproof.
You can get to bootloader so it will be easy. Worse is bricked phone without access to it.
I can’t tell a difference, I just uninstall all unnecessary apps when I buy a phone. The same way I selected all recommended apps from all lists and I got to about 5 apps on homescreen without a problem.
Look in to F-droid, I tried few games it is hit or miss some are really good and some meh.
AAAAXY, super retro mega wars, minetest, lots of puzzle games - just a few that I tried and were decent or really good.
To be fair, how long it took Michaelsoft to support ARM? What else to ship it with? BSD, IOS…
