I’m currently using bazzite due to its really solid out of the box support for gaming hardware and peripherals.

I’m really surprised everyone uses arch. I have three theories as to why:

1. There actually aren’t that many arch uses but when arch users have the opportunity they won’t hesitate to say “BTW I use arch” were as others don’t really bother.
2. There are lots of arch users and everyone uses it because they want to be able to say “BTW I use arch”
3. (Very unlikly) There are lots of arch users and it’s because it’s actually a good distro that people like.

(This is mostly a joke jsyk I’m sure arch is a great distro)

Yeah so I tried my nvidia gtx 1660 and yeah everything worked perfectly first try.

its a amd ryzen 1600 it doesn’t have an igpu. Although I have a spare gtx 1660 I might try that.

Bazzite has the same issue. Still no display output. And yes I’m sure my hdmi cable is plugged since it still works with safe graphics on and windows works perfectly with no issues.

Why do logs help with threat detection?

I don’t really understand the point of this. What kind of logs are you storing and why would you want to?

Yeah I’ve seen this distro seams really good and my main use case is gaming. I will give it a go.

I can’t even get into the login screen without safe graphics on so I’m not sure how I can login to a specific tty.

Yeah that sounds promising. I have read the wiki page and I tried a few boot commands I followed this guide Here is what I have added to the boot manager screen:

It didn’t work but I think it might be because I am doing something wrong here.

Yep I switched out the cable and a different cable type and a different display didn’t help.

yeah I tried using another display and switching out the display cable didn’t help at all.

It seams cool but it’s not foss and you need to make an account to sign up. Those are the main reasons I want to move away from F360 so I probably won’t use it.

Wow freecad looks really good. Might finally change from fusion 360.

Yeah there arn’t many reasons not to switch to Linux but people still won’t because they don’t have any good reason to switch. People just don’t seam to care about there privacy and the idea of open source or know why it’s important. Although I’m hopeful that will change in the future

Another reason is the idea of installing another os is intimidating for a lot of people most people buy a laptop or pc with windows pre installed and they just sign in and go the idea of changing installing an os seams to risky or like too much work. A good comparison is when I tried to convince some of my friends to use firefox one of them uses opera gx and he knows how terrible of a browser it is but he won’t change because he doesn’t want to move all his tabs. Another one just hated the name “firefox” for some reason.

This is how some of my friends think about climate change action. Whats the point of doing anything at all if anything you do isn’t going to make an impact? It’s all about everyone helping some amount, it ads up!
