I see. I remember there used to be issues with Intel GPUs on linux back 10-15 years ago, but it should work without issues today.

However, on Linux mint you do have to open the driver manager and select your proprietary graphics driver yourself or you end up with the open source one which is not always as performant (though more backwards compatible). It should have the Intel drivers in there too. In general, only the graphics drivers need to be installed by the user and everything else should be set automatically.

And in the case they were installed, rolling back to an earlier version of the driver might also improve it. It looks like Intel has stopped providing updates to the i7-3770 since a few years back, so a later Intel driver could be causing issues.

It should work without any choppiness in the OS itself, but it might take a bit more configuration than newer ones that generally just immediately work.

Did this happen while you were trying it out on the USB, or had the installation finished and you had removed the USB and restarted?

Were the nvidia d rivers installed in the driver manager? Was there any difference with the open source drivers?

Was secure boot disabled in your BIOS?

Was it a laptop or desktop? In case of laptop it might have been using battery saver mode. installing https://github.com/linrunner/TLP might have helped setting it up properly if you don’t want to handle it yourself.

What graphics card do you have? I can check if there are any compatibility issues, though there shouldn’t be unless it is decades old, in which case you might want to try out one of the more old hardware compatibility focused Linux distros.

Sounds like something went wrong with the installation. Mint is overall more performant than windows. What slowed down?

LMMS doesn’t seem to pack the samples and soundfonts into the project file when you import, so you’re live referencing them in your folders, which means renaming the folders will break the links. I also learned this the hard way, and now tend to copy soundfonts I use into the project folder of each project, so if I need to move or send over files to someone else, I can copy the folder without breaking anything.

Been waiting for either 8a to drop in price or for 9a to come out. My old phone is 10 years old and barely hanging on, so hopefully grapheneOS adds support for 9a rather quickly.

FUTO is source available, so in terms of safety it is just as good as FOSS. All the voice to text is done locally. I use the FUTO keyboard and Grayjay and they’re both amazing. Don’t get too hung up on their license. It prevents other businesses from taking their source code and taking over the space with a for profit application. It is 99% as good as FOSS.

I still recommend GIMP 3.0 as it has made huge changes that vastly improved user workflow, such as non-destructive editing, multi-layer selection, lower clicks required for each action, etc. It feels much more modern now and non-developer user friendly.

Or you get a windows VM and run your favorite program in that. It works but has a slight performance decrease. You can disable internet access on the VM to prevent telemetry and spyware.

And the thing about Pepe is that he is a meme template. That means he can be used in any ideological statement, greentext story, copy-pasta or anything. It is very apparent that the ADL do not understand internet culture, and that’s why no one took their statement about pepe seriously. They have no idea what they’re talking about.

And the way you phrase it makes it sound like you disagree with the argument. Do you consider pepe to be a dog whistle for racism? I haven’t downplayed death threats. It was a conversation where someome falsely alleged that someone else had received death threats, which had no evidence, and the person in question never even claimed they had received any.

The rest is just me calling out misinformation about black myth wukong (the sexism allegations that turned out to be mistranslations) and about the harassment campaing against Sweet Baby Inc, bias in gaming journalism, etc.

I’ve never taken a specific political stance in any of their conversations. I just am against misinformation and censorship and call them out when they happen.

The reason I’m against what your post is about, is because ADL were extremely dishonest in their findings, and I think they’re biased or politically motivated to implement restrictions that require users to give up more private information about themselves, or not be allowed free speech.

And no, I didn’t break any rules either. Every ban I’ve faced have all been completely unjustified, which is why I’ve blocked most of the communities I’ve been banned on. It’s like being banned from hexbear and you saying that makes me deserve to get my account removed. The little information you get out of that modlog only shows the mods being biased.

And you would know about biased mods, seeing as you yourself have been banned and then called out after making a thread about it. It isn’t all black and white. I’m not interested in who was right in that post, you or the mod, but you get my point.
