1·1 month agoAlso, I wouldn’t shy from keeping the database on the same, fast storage as the OS, even if that’s flash. Move to an external SSD when you can. HDDs have such long seek times.
Very much true. I installed Immich on my dads Synology for him and compared to my own setup at home the speeds are abysmall (it even crased a few times during the first indexing and ML run). I suspect a major part is that the whole os runs on an hdd.
If you put the database on an sd-card just ensure you make frequent backups somwhere else. I wouldn’t trust flash storage to keep my data safe.

1·2 months agoAfaik Synology supports Btrfs which I honestly prefer at this point if you don’t need filesystem based encryption or professionall scaling and caching features.
I too love my
Fixed spacing of friend icons in “Played Previously” and “On Their Wishlist” sections in app details.
Honestly, no blame on valve I prefer slow and steady over unstutsainable and flashy. But why does this need a post on this community?

3·4 months agoBecause I don’t know how docker works, the .yaml given by nightscout is using traefik and I don’t know how to remove it without breakting the nightscout container.

1·4 months agoHow do I connect to the container without traefik (from my local network)?
When I remove all the traefic references and then run docker ps I get
CONTAINER ID IMAGE COMMAND CREATED STATUS PORTS NAMES [removed] nightscout/cgm-remote-monitor:latest "docker-entrypoint.s…" 6 seconds ago Up 5 seconds 1337/tcp nightscout [removed] mongo:4.4 "docker-entrypoint.s…" 37 hours ago Up 5 seconds 27017/tcp docker-mongo-1But I can’t reach it under dockerIP:1337.
With Immich it had 0.0.0.0:port as its IP and I was able to reach it that way.

3·4 months agoOuch, I will defenelty check on the system temps once I get home. Although I can’t really shut the whole thing off, maybe I can at least spin down the drive pool and kill all containers relying on that.

1·4 months agoI hobestly don’t know how much of this temperature is the server and how much is just it beeing in a badly ventilated spot under the ceiling.
I don’t really do disk spindown as they are active most of the time anyways (Zfs spends most of the time scrubbing).

6·7 months agoBeen using Strato (subsidiary of IONOS) for a few years now as well and got no complaints. Plus its only 12€/a for a .de or .eu domain.

I was hinting at your last sentence. It seems, they do indeed target a lower sdk: https://gitlab.com/fmd-foss/fmd-android/-/issues?show=eyJpaWQiOiIzNTQiLCJmdWxsX3BhdGgiOiJmbWQtZm9zcy9mbWQtYW5kcm9pZCIsImlkIjoxNzI3NjgxMTN9
F-droid also warns me, the target sdk ist too old and automatic updates will not be possible.
(Thank you for the post anyhow, I didn’t know the app existed before)
