thats why i am trying to explain to my family since forever. their answer always amounts to something like “it would be illegal for them to look at my data!” like those companies would care. .
thanks for the piece of mind! while i do have some skills due to my work, its not remotely enough to work on linux. im gonna be a recruiter then…
soon, hopefully. i actually noticed that people tend to react much less surprised to a computer running linux nowadays, which seems like a good sign to me.
i honestly just wanna express my gratitude to all the people who made linux what it is today over the last decades, the experience is incomparable to the one i had when first installing debian in 2007. i wish i were more skilled in order to meaningfully give back to this community.
and to all the newbies: thanks for joining our ranks! please dont be scared by the rather elitist attitude that some users display. we secretly all love you!
sadly.
i get where youre coming from, but imho the eye tends to parse information more effectively if delivered vertically, since it knows it that way from other media. just my personal opinion though.
congratulats to the people liking them i guess. i personally dont get it, since most languages are written horizontally and i like ux to reflect this structure. such things are subjective though
debian in 2007. still using it alongside mint
signal is sadly also not trustworthy. i would rather recommend briar on mobile or just classic xmpp or irc on your desktop via tor.
