Actually this is incorrect. The RAM manufacturers operate as a cartel and purposefully restrict the supply of RAM so they can sell less at much higher margins. They have been caught doing this 20 years ago and they are doing it again but now everyone is buying their excuse.

The fact they have an excuse of data centers and AI is driving a scam that has been recurring for literally decades.

It isn’t AI or data center build outs constricting the RAM supply, it is the fact the RAM manufacturers are an illegal price fixing cartel that colludes to drive prices up and victimizes consumers.

It is only a partial solution imo, I had downvoted disabled on vegan theory club but people would still downvote the posts and it would federate to all the other servers except mine and I couldn’t moderate it. We were targeted by shut ins and the threads looked bad on other instances and I couldn’t see or ban the users lol. I guess rejecting federated votes would help but then there would be no federated upvotes either.

I always wonder how these “security experts” can identify which state is responsible for the compromise. In this case its “Chinese” state actors. But how do we really know? Wouldn’t it be in the best interests of state sponsored hacking teams to hide or blame other states?
