I literally had a coworker the other day tell me they couldn’t work on something at all because they were out of tokens. Outrank me, make more than me, and it’s a customer-facing issue that is likely part of an incident in production (nevermind that they apparently didn’t even know about the issue that I, not even on their team or product, found).

We also have another project that I took over when moving to my current team. Boss had AI write documentation because of course there was none. It was wrong almost as much as it was correct.

I never played it, but I saw a video of it (LGR, I think?)

I first used it in the '90s so a resounding yes.

More recently, trying to get video editing software to work properly and not break as soon as I upgrade was the one. Also I couldn’t get a bunch of HAM stuff working properly on Mint and I just don’t have time to throw at it.

I just picked it back up last night to do a new playthrough. I did one playthrough as a corpo before they reset all the perks and later released Phantom Liberty. Picked a streetkid this time. Only had a few hours to throw at it, but I’m quite enjoying playing again.

Well, so long as I continue to get security updates, I’m not concerned with anything else. Guess I should start looking for what’s out there that isn’t google/apple/samsung

Japan sells both an international version and a domestic version which is language-locked (and region-locked?) and I don’t think can get support outside of Japan. Pretty sure it will only work with a Japanese Nintendo account which, at least in the past, only worked with a Japanese credit card, though I’m not sure that’s true anymore. I don’t think it’s worth the hassle.

I played one once at a rich cousin’s house around release and I think once a few years later. I wouldn’t touch one again until 2012ish and that controller felt awful.

Yeah, I can’t play it with very high settings. My PC is probably about 6-8 years old and has no upgrades (and wasn’t bleeding edge when I built it, but not horrible either)

This is what I’m in the market for. Not from them anymore, but generally, in any case.

Nothing is really jumping out to me.

I may do another run of cyberpunk during rainy season since it’s about all my PC can do and upgrading is basically impossible right now.

I just finished my ~yearly run of Skyrim (with mods other than just skyui for the first time this time).

I used to play a lot of 7 Days, but they lost me when they started adding triggers in POIs that automatically alerted zombies, opened doors, etc. and TFP’s general bullshit after that.

The only other two games I’ve played this year are Last Caretaker (it was alright but had too many performance issues and bugs at the time), and Peglin which I’m also kinda over.

I forgot all about Enlightenment. Also, no Mandrake Linux?

I work in IT in Japan and we’d be in deep shit if that happened at any company I work for.

I don’t think I’ve ever used Komodo station for anything before which is why I clicked to see.

Probably not interested for those specs at that price.

In Japan, the page also has a link that goes to some partner of theirs that’s just a maintenance page at 09:38 on a weekday which… does not inspire confidence.

I didn’t state anywhere that they should. It’s possible to implement some of a system without other parts (in this case, increasing protections and stability for employees), and I’d like to see that done. As someone who lives and works in Japan, I definitely don’t think anyone should be imitating all of it.

Consumers giving money to a company tells the company they support (or at least tolerate) what the company is doing. That is what I mean by rewarding this behavior.

They’re only 3rd person, IIRC. I’m not a huge fan of that, personally.

We don’t have sales numbers to work with, but they sponsor videos and do all kinds of stuff. Especially with all the AI hype, they could be unwisely using their money. Only they know that, however. They’ve not done right by many of their employees nor consumers for more than the last fiscal year, though.

In general, the whole ‘game studio builds thing then lays people off’ is just gross to me. Here in Japan, we don’t have that because it would be illegal. Companies have to be more prudent in their hiring, planning, spending, and saving. All workers should have those rights and I try to avoid giving money to companies that do not grant them.

Yet people keep rewarding this awful behavior (at this company and others) with their wallets.
