  • That is objectively a false statement.

Phantom Liberty is an expansion. Shadow of the Erdtree is an expansion. Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles are expansions. Echoes of the Eye is an expansion. Bad Company: Vietnam is an expansion. All of these amount to a third, to a half of the total game content. We used to buy them, and will continue buying them, because they add absolutely insane value to what you already really liked.

“Exclusive cat content” that can only be obtained through a 30$ upgrade, and includes 3 new costumes, and whatever the hell cat content is, is dlc. This adds nothing of value for us, but lines the pockets of the studio shareholders quite substantially.

Just because the large players in the industry are complicit, it doesn’t change history, and certainly it doesn’t change the vocabulary.

Either way, I’ve switched all by one of my machines to Nix now, including my Darwin laptop, and it’s honestly been pretty damn good.

Aside from the huge learning curve, and a pretty depressing turnover rate for an occasional package update request, especially when it comes to home-manager.

The ability to have a flake structure, that you can push to git, and then re-use on all of your systems, is huge.

  • That’s a huge shame. I was using it quite extensively to sync wallpapers and immediately-necessary files to my phone.

It’s not even like it looks any better for iOS either. Between the filesystem permission issues, and the background activity being severely crippled as standard, no wonder there’s no development there either

  • My mom got my XPS9350 i used to bring to uni, and at the moment, it has Fedora in it.

She repeatedly claimed it was a lot more straightforward for her to understand, compared to the endless inconsistencies and issues on Windows. All things considered, she is fairly tech illiterate too.

Plus it’s easy for me to remote into, in case something breaks
