  • I cannot tell you how much better my mental health has been since I stopped playing Apex Legends, Overwatch, and Rocket League. I never had anything against the gameplay of these games but the microtransactions and battle passes were just straight up toxic. After a couple weeks you simply don’t give a shit anymore and it’s amazing. I see my roommate playing these games until 3 AM every day because he has to do his daily challenges for 4 different games. He’ll be so pissed off that he can barely speak as he powers through game after game to get them done so he can go to bed. And in hindsight, that’s probably what I used to look like back when I played those games.

  • I don’t know what game you’re playing because I’ve never run into this issue before. I’ve played through year 4 on several different farms and never encountered anything of this magnitude. I’ve been playing this game since day one and have had nothing but positive experiences and so has pretty much everyone else. If minor adjustments to gameplay are enough to classify a game as being in perpetual Early Access, then every single game that is being made today is in perpetual Early Access. In fact in most games you don’t even get the new content with the updates. Also, the game costs $20 it’s not like you’re spending over $100 for the Premium Deluxe Edition Game of the Year Season Pass Preorder Bundle. It’s $20 and goes on sale so frequently you could pick it up for $5 four or five times a year.

  • Bro, the man’s basically releasing free dlc not updating an early access game. The game was never in early access and all your saves are compatible with the new expansions (I sometimes still play the same farm I’ve had since the game was first released). The game already has more content than any other game in the genre and ConcernedApe is still releasing all updates for free and promised to never charge for anything new added to the game. What is there to complain about when you’re getting free shit where in most games it costs $5 to $10?

I was so worried about this game being bad. Not that I didn’t trust them to make a game as good as the first Frost Punk, but more that some of the expansions for the first game were pretty meh. Still good, but nothing like the original experience of the game. Anything above a 7 is a great sign as it’s not a game for everyone. The fact that it got a decent amount of 8’s and 9’s is even better. I can’t wait to play it!

… After I beat the first one again.

  • Fuck Elon Musk, but don’t discourage human curiosity and stupidity. There’s nothing humans love more than conquering an impossible task. Humanity would have never made it as far as we did without people doing stupid and crazy shit. Humanity is the kinda species that just says “fuck it, we ball” and then proceeds to just do exactly what they shouldn’t do. Shit like walking across ice sheets to new continents because why not and go to the fucking moon.

Someone will figure it out eventually. Might take a couple hundred years (if we don’t kill ourselves first) but we’ll get there.

  • Damn, that’s rough. Regardless of your opinion on the game that’s a lot of hard work down the drain. I honestly feel bad for all the artists, musicians, programmers, and voice actors that put in years of work for it all to end like this. And we all know that Sony is going to fire pretty much everyone on the development team to recover costs even if it goes free to play. People that didn’t even have direct control over the direction of the game and were just doing their best. Hopefully at least the game will go free to play so the people that want to play it can get a chance.

But at the same time I find it kinda funny that the same people that bitched about it not being free to play will be totally down to spend $40 on a couple skins instead of, you know, an entire game with all the cosmetics included. I guess the option to spend money is more powerful than a requirement to spend money.

Also I think the play test for Valve’s new game Deadlock kinda screwed over the launch of anything hero shooter related. That play test has had more players during the play test than some games have over the course of 5 years.
