Because the game was incredibly successful and other companies tried to copy the formula. The same reason a lot of companies tried to copy Fortnite or League of Legends.
No other gaming platform has the userbase Steam does. I see this more of a numbers thing than anything else. If 2% of the gaming population is far right then it’s going to be much more noticeable when one company has a userbase of ~100million. I’d be very surprised if the other companies like Ubisoft and EA have this kind of content moderation.
What industry standards is he talking about here? Steam code of conduct only says you must engage in lawful behaviour. There’s no American law banning far-right symbols. There’s no doubt Steam has a content moderation issue and I would love to see those things go as well. But unless there’s some kind of law then Valve is just going to ignore this problem like they’ve done in the past.
True, now you’re making me want to replay Origins lol.
I enjoyed Origins as well. To me Odyssey was a more refined version of Origins. Better exploration, combat, etc. Odyssey focused more on exploration which is maybe why you felt it was more empty? I enjoyed it personally but it’s definitely a preference thing.
Which is not a really good criticism in my opnion. It still had a lot of the core elements of AC, they just tried some new things. And a lot of it worked out.
Odyssey was pretty dam good in my opinion.
Just signed up about 2 minutes ago and havent gotten my email. I’m a patient man, but even I have my limits.
Interested to give it a shot though. Hopefully it gets sorted out soon.
Unless I’m misinterpreting your comment.
Bork is saying a blanket ban on computers connecting remotely would not work in a company that has a huge operations department who need to be on-call.
So they want to automate the use of troll-farms?
Good. It’s clear these assholes don’t think in terms of ethics. Hit it where it hurts. Their wallets. It’s all these greedy fucks understand.
The best thing about online games is the opportunity for Mats, and others like him, to be who he truly was. Once you find the right group of people, it doesn’t what color your skin is, what’s between your legs, what your physical advantages/disadvantages are. All that mattered was your character and your determination. And you aren’t limited by your geography even. You can interact with people all over the world and enrich yourself along with enriching themselves by providing a brief glimpse in each others lives. It’s actually a beautiful thing how many stories there are like this one there are out there. Games like WoW enabled Mats to be the person who he truly was before he passed. It’s a bittersweet moment for the parents. I hope it gives them the closure they need.
It’s been years since I played or looked at anything CS related. I had no idea they shut down CS:GO.
CS:GO is around the same age with much more players on average. GTA V’s player count tends to fluctuate based on what I’ve seen.
All the games you listed like PUBG and GTA V are more like fads. Sure some lasted longer than others but their popularity dies down. Games like Counter Strike are considered to be more of classics. Especially to the older generation of gamers who grew up on them. These are games that are able to stand the test of time.
Except if the person decides to harass or stalk you in real life after reading the reasons. These aren’t hypotheticals, these things happen.
Browse all and sort by new or scaled maybe?
That’s a pretty big loophole given how big the alt-right Christian movement is.
