Ya there’s a multitude of options across various platforms, if someone is still using vanilla YouTube it’s their own fault.
As far as I know this is somewhat common, use the recommended apk version of YouTube shown in Revanced Manager, and patch. Every once in a while I need to do the same. Just delete the old APK off your Android device.
