The problem is the for profit healthcare system. The system is designed to turn blood into money. It needs to be torn down, then rebuilt as nationalized, socialized healthcare system for all. Everything profit seeking needs banned.
For me personally, it was easier to just write a few python scripts to parse the CSV files from my banks.
I switched over to this last month, and I’m already a fan of it. It did take a bit of time to port over my old shtitty excel tracking, and to write a few python scripts to parse the export CSV files from each of my bank accounts, but it is very clearly worth it.
One of the nice things is that it uses a SQLite db to store everything, so if shit ever hits the fan with one of my drives or the software, it isn’t the end of the world.
You can self host it so you can access it over the web, or you can choose to run it entirely locally. It’s pretty nifty, and I’ve elected to using it for the second option.
I’m looking forward to this. I quite enjoyed subzero even though I didn’t enjoy it as much as the original. So I am hoping they’ve learned from the difference in love the community has for them.
TBH half of the problem with subzero was the sea truck. I get that they wanted to innovate and do something new, but the original sub was just so much cooler. IMO a better innovation would have been to focus on building a nomadic, cooperative fleet with friends.
Maybe friend A has a boat on the surface, friend B has a sub, friend C has a factorio-esc spidertron, etc. The boat friend could have a laser weapon, and the undersea friends could paint a target for the boat friend. I imagine it would be a load of fun to shine a little laser pointer through the glass of your sub and then a few seconds later your friend annihilates a leviathan with a blinding beam of light coming from above.
This is exactly the thing I’ve been looking for. It saves everything as a sqlite db, and has csv export options. So you’re not fucked over if you need to switch to something else. It’s compatible for linux/windows.
And the import options seem pretty good too.

The only real issue is that one of my banks deals with more than one type of currency. So I’ve had to write a custom script to handle that. But all in all, this is a massive upgrade for me. Thank you for this recommendation.

Sure, it’s not perfect, but there is still probably use cases there. For me personally, I prefer using roll20 to store my character sheets for D&D, and my peace of shit 15 year old laptop just isn’t cutting it anymore. I don’t think this is a $150 use case, but if the price of this tablet were to come down I’d have second thoughts.
Another option if you have a laptop and desktop is to test the waters slowly with the laptop, and keep your desktop as is. It’s what I did for a long while to get used to things on Linux.
If there is a critical problem with my Linux instalation on my laptop, it’s OK because all the real stuff I care about is still on the desktop. So I’m free to wipe the laptop at a moments notice. It’s the easiest way to learn in my experience.
In my experience, experience with one distro is experience with them all. 90% of what you are familiar with will be either similar or completely the same. So definitely give LMDE a shot.
I’d personally recommend Linux Mint Debian Edition. After distro hopping for a bit, it has personally been the best one for working right out of the box, both for my games and for my peripherals.
I like the UI, it’s about at my tech level/needs. I have little to no complaints about it, which is as good as it gets.
Don’t worry, I’ve been playing plenty of Linux factorio for the last few weeks to make up for it.
If somebody gets access to your system, they could use that to blackmail you, and/or frame you for distributing said media.

The only real solution is to completely overhaul IP law, and/or nationalizing funding for the arts. If we’re gonna keep corps that own/produce media, then they should have a very short and limited amount of time to distribute it before it becomes common property of the people.
Best case scenario, they learn from No Man’s Sky with what few devs they have left. Worst case scenario, the game remains shit, and we all continue to enjoy modded to hell KSP 1/Juno/etc.
It has some rough edges to be sure. I’ve found myself fighting with it quite a bit. But it’s usable.
I’m just glad there is more incentive for [organization] to help patch the issues.

It’s not your traditional nazis per say, but the half life series fits quite nicely with this urge. The combine are genocidal, totalitarian, they use shit loads of propaganda, etc. They don’t have the looks of it, but they’re clearly the nazi type.
