A few years ago when I tried switching, this drove me nuts. It’s so unintuitive coming from Windows where I use middle mouse all the time in browsers.

Yeah, the second game already had that problem. It was right in the era when everyone thought they needed to copy the quippy, irreverent dialogue from Marvel without understanding why it worked or when not to use it.
The new powers and mobility changes sound good, at least.
Their source is this page on the Video Game Sales Wiki, which does say “The following titles are the best-selling games released in the 2020s, as of 2025.”. That’s how I read the headline, but you’re right, it would have helped if Visual Capitalist had clarified by including that bit of info.

Yeah, that’s usually the term. Also, it doesn’t see much action, but: [email protected]

I still have my doubts that was the majority of the issue, at least the first time they “won” that award in 2012. That poll happened 1 month after Mass Effect 3’s release, when emotions were still raw over people’s disappointment with the game’s ending. That’s not to defend those who were voting for EA over, say, Nestle or any number of other awful companies. But most of what I saw was immature lashing out to punish anyone perceived as responsible for the writing. I remember people cheering they’d managed to harass EA’s tech support Twitter account into closing, like they’d made some great moral victory. It was all pretty gross, just for different reasons than EA claimed.
I think you meant “bottom to top”. But yes, that does change the tone a bit.

It’s so weird to me that no one uses the term “slowdown” any more. Lag and latency meant networking delays back in the days you’re talking about. Not a complaint, just an observation that I’ve been wondering about the last few years.
But yeah, as others said, slowdown/lag was pretty common. I immediately think of the ninjas jumping out of the water in TMNT3, the beginning of Top Man’s stage in Mega Man 3, and the last boss of The Guardian Legend, but there were many more. Early 3d is shocking too, with more sub-30-fps games than you remember. Some called themselves at 20, even. [Edit: Now that I think about it, even some NES games capped at 20. Strange times.]

You acknowledge that if you fail to comply with the foregoing restrictions Nintendo may render the Nintendo Account Services and/or the applicable Nintendo device permanently unusable in whole or in part.
It seems hard to believe, but that’s the threat being made. Time will tell whether that’s bluster or if they’re really prepared to do so.

IGN owns Humble.

E.T.
Yes really. I played it all the time as a kid and didn’t think it was any more difficult or abstract than the rest of the 2600’s catalogue. Granted, we kept the manual, which made a huge difference in understanding and enjoying its bizarre logic, but still. I had no idea it was so hated until at least a decade later.
As far as completion: I managed to 100% Mirage in 50 hours, and part of that was spent aimlessly exploring. I’m sure it could be done faster. Of course, it’s also the weakest entry in the series in a while, and the easiest to skip.
I feel you on Valhalla. 300+ hours and I still had side stuff unfinished.
Whoa. I had given up on ever getting a third Styx. Great news. I just hope they learned the lesson from the second game not to shove in a bunch of irreverent meta-humor that just didn’t fit.

The article that OP was trying to link to: https://pkinsight.com/assassins-creed-shadows-story/
Starting with tomorrow’s release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC, we’re working to add more benefits to playing with an account for PlayStation Network. The Last of Us Part II Remastered (coming April 3, 2025), in addition to God of War Ragnarök and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, will all soon be adding in-game content unlocks for PlayStation Network account users.
“Working to” and “soon be adding” makes it sound like they haven’t gone live with the patches for those games quite yet.

Martin Hollis, but Doak was co-designer. https://www.mobygames.com/game/4034/perfect-dark/credits/n64/
(Also it’s crazy how short credits were back then. I left a Ubisoft credit scroll going a few years ago and I swear it took 45 minutes.)

The site seems to be focused on tabletop and board games, so I guess they assumed their target audience already knew what it meant.

Are you sure about Giant Bomb? AFAIK Jess, Jason, and Bailey were all laid off by Fandom. The GB crew even spoke about being caught off-guard both times, and how bad they thought those layoff decisions were.

FYI you can trim 80% of that. https://www.amazon.com/LEXiBOOK-Educational-Activities-Mathematics-Dactylography/dp/B0B6HKB3JF/ Amazon sure loves its tracking data.

Cool. Reminds me of kkrieger from…20 years ago? Where’d that time go.
There’s one called simply Pokemon Blue - 151.
