Gamer expectations are crazy high. Fall out 4 was objectively a decent game, and you could do nearly anything you wanted in the game and it had branching narratives. Some people will just never be happy.

Whelp, it was a nice run having Playstation consoles. I can get plenty of old games elsewhere.

We don’t frequent the same internet circles apparently

That’s such a weird example

They’re dorito flavored

Actually, we don’t use relativity so much. For some stuff like light time delays, yes, but for orbit determination we use newtonian mechanics still. It’s just that once you start adding more than two bodies, you have to shift to doing numerical integration to find solutions, which doesn’t work for real-time stuff like video games.
For most applications, F = -GM1M2/r^2 is still a valid approximation.
Edit: And by most applications, i mean sending a satellite to a planet in our solar system. If you were trying to go to Alpha Centauri, you damn sure better use Relativity to model your trajectory.

KSP is not mathematically accurate and it can’t be or it would have trouble running on computers. They split up and use simplified 2 body dynamics in the game.
We use super computers to model the n-body problem bcz of how complex it is.

Yeah, that’s how they filmed the first moon landing.

I think it’s a perfect use case, that and UV unwrapping and texturing. Stuff thats tedious, and nobody likes doing.
For chat, you limit it to a character. It’s not like chatgpt where you can prompt it to say anything.

Conversation is honestly one of the places I think AI would excel at. You can have more interesting conversations instead of the same 5 phrases over and over.

You do know the games themselves generally choose the type of anti-aliasing used right? Your graphics card doesn’t run anti-aliasing ontop of everything else.

Anything to win an internet argument…

It’s just typical gamers being hyper picky. We used to rant and rave about 16-bit graphics. N64 graphics were cutting edge when the system came out. And now we’re not happy unless the game has hyper realistic graphics, open world, and an amazing riveting story. It’s annoying.
The goal posts for a good game are always moving. Seems impossible to satisfy people today. And that’s nothing to do with AI.

I dislike AI just as much as the next person, but I don’t get all the hate for this image. It looks fine.

Best of luck with your game dev journey regardless!

Nonsense, anyone can make a game! You can pair with someone as well if you feel like you aren’t a strong programmer, or artist, or whatever.

Why? Anybody who’s played it knows it only has a passing resemblance to Pokémon. Once you play the game, you realize how different it is in its mechanics and story from pokemon.
Nintendo doesn’t own the idea of monster taming. The idea predates their company by quite a bit actually.

I’m not defensive. I just think gamers have unrealistic expectations these days. Everything needs to be brand new with novel mechanics, hyper realistic, the most interesting story ever or people aren’t happy. It’s boring.
