Any suggestion for a legit mock app?
I use Lucid Launcher which has an “edge”. I use it for my Fav apps and keep my home screen empty.
I personally love it.
Imagine suddenly driving up to a police DUI check point. You’ve only had one glass of wine with dinner. But, you posted about it on IG, FB, X … or, whatever. You want the risk of letting the cops have easy access to your phone? No way!
I’m aware. I just think it’s safer to use PIN/password 100%.
Friendly reminder if you’re in the U.S., you always want to use a PIN or password to unlock your phone. Law enforcement needs a warrant. If you use your finger print, Iris, face… they do NOT need a warrant.
I have Dev mode. Any suggestion on an app? I’m not familiar with that.
Pixel. I looked for Nice Catch. That’s part of Samsung?.. I should look into whether that could be side loaded.
Edit: pretty sure that’s a no.
Ha, yeah, I read that before posting this. I’ve never had a dedicated news app and I don’t listen to podcasts. I’m strictly a music man. I’m searching my phone for weather related announcements.
Unfortunately, I recognize everything. The alerts started before the last “Call Control” app that I installed.
It’s just really irritating that nothing gets listed in Notification history.
Nothing really. Just the Google Discover on the new tab page. I’ve checked to make sure no notifications are “On”.
There’s no record of it. It’s just a verbal announcement and it does not appear in the settings notification history.
Unfortunately, phone notification history doesn’t show any app notification.
Stock is fine. If you want a different “feel”, try a launcher. And get a system Ad Blocker.
I use Lucid.
It has a side bar for fav apps. Just swipe left and my list pops up. 12 apps.
My home screen is empty with a beauty of a wallpaper.
Can’t help ya with the Google feed. I never use that. Occasionally, I’ll tap the weather icon on the lock screen to open the weather info.
They are, so, why bother?
I’ll take my chances. Good thing is, if I lose my phone, I won’t be able to whine about it on Lemmy.
Glass backs are dumb. I always use a simple case that can hold my driver’s license and a card. I never use a wallet. I think it’s been at least 20 years since I’ve carried a wallet.
