Wasn’t Splitgate 1 a pretty overwhelming disappointment? Kinda scummy to turn off the servers and then work on releasing a second installment.

I posted several threads asking for that and got REAMED.
The devs are tankies, the largest instances indirectly support fascism (and the tankies), and the biggest European instance is explicitly choosing to support neonazis.
Lemmy is dead.
It’s almost as if this thread isn’t about Italy, Italians, or Italian law 🤔 super weird of me to focus on the topic presented, I know
Ex-nazis choosing to support neo-nazis. Maybe they lost the ex, is Germany OK?
If everyone on your team of 6 is 20% faster, you don’t necessarily need the 6th person. Maybe you put that towards more work, but that’s not very American, these days. Cut costs, cash out, fuck 'em
I’ll be honest, I thought Plex Pass was always a requirement for this 😅
And Linux isn’t minimal effort. It’s an operating system that demands more of you than does the commercial offerings from Microsoft and Apple. Thus, it serves as a dojo for understanding computers better. With a sensei who keeps demanding you figure problems out on your own in order to learn and level up.
Counterpoint: most people don’t use Linux because the people that evangelize Linux talk about it like this.
I don’t want to “level up,” I want to accomplish my tasks. I’m trying to get shit done, not train for a fucking tournament.
In the short-term (0-6mo, maybe less): probably nothing really changes. It’s not super likely that anyone would be holding on to a massive flaw, waiting for EOL. Nothing stops Microsoft from patching after EOL for something major, they’ve done it before.
Medium-term (maybe up to a year or two): you’re looking at real potential to get infected with --who-knows-what–. Hard to say how long it would take or how widespread it would be.
Longer term: massive, massive security hole. Microsoft has probably even patched a major thing or two by now (despite EOL), but there will always be more
Bringing you, maybe. I’m out ✌️ I’m not giving into the inevitable pre-planned reduction from 80/90 to 70/80, either.
lol fair enough, it’s Bioware, but the point still stands
But… you still don’t own it. You own an Ubi EA-controlled, revocable license to play the game.
an update which was specifically designed to break the mod.

What do you mean? He did step in, understood absolutely no context of the issue, told everyone to shut up, and then left without any real input. Fucking joke
And these social media outbursts aren’t accomplishing what they think they’re accomplishing.
I’m extremely technical, but not actively into Linux, though I’ve set up various distros dozens up times. These posts have driven me away from Linux in an extremely hard way - anyone with opinions like the Kernel team simply don’t deserve support, and Linus is clearly past his prime and making bad decisions. This has shown me that Linux is going to (likely already has) slowly stop improving due to its explicitly anti-progress leadership. Until a fork with good leaders manages to take a real market share, the OS will stagnate.
I’m sure this is a minority opinion, but to claim that the social media blitz hasn’t had its intended effect is objectively false. Fuck the kernel team.
At best it would hamper some FOSS AI researchers that don’t have the resources to curate a dataset.
If you can’t source a dataset, then you shouldn’t be researching AI. It’s the first and single most important step of the entire process.
We agree on the argument you shifted to - they barely delivered the game they promised on day 1. But that wasn’t what your first comment said. You said the game was starting to almost approach what they promised before launch.
You just can’t get the connection to me referencing “launch” in the first joke and then focusing entirely on the argument instead of a joke. Wild. You’ll do great in debate class when you’re old enough 🙄
Do those missing features means the game isn’t at it’s promised state?
Literally yes. You can shift the goalposts all you want, that doesn’t remove the fraud.
You can claim you know my brain better all you want, that doesn’t change my core argument for the entirety of this conversation: the game never reached launch promises, evem after 5 years. Sean Murray is a fraudster and doesn’t deserve control of any company.
Who’s moving goalposts, now? 😂🤣😂🤣
It’s almost as if you realized you were wrong and decided to change the subject. Wild.
That said, their CEO is out there talking about their new game exactly like he did with No Man’s Sky, making very bold claims. We’ll see how that turns out for them. lol
It’s almost as if rewarding fraud instead of punishing it tells them it’s OK 🤷♂️ crazy how that works
So you linked a spreadsheet that shows I’m correct, and use that to claim that I changed the subject and am shifting goalposts…
If both of my claims are objectively true - based on the source that YOU provided - then did I change the subject or was I just adding additional context? It sure seems more like you’re avoiding the subject and attacking a strawman instead of the arguments I made.
That. The content of the screenshot you posted. That is what’s going on.
