They’re painfully mediocre. The gameplay is straight out of Assassin’s Creed 2 with some Skyrim sprinkles for good measure. Run to the tower, reveal the map, do the quest, check the box, go to the next one, maybe stumble across a cave with some minor loot. Snooze.

And the Switch titles in all of those franchises range from some of, to the flat out worst, in their respective series.

TotK may as well be DLC for BotW, and Windwaker would have been more similar to those titles were it not for the technical limitations of the Gamecube.

They still can’t seem to get Starfox right since 64 and even that was a reboot of the NES title. You’re really gonna look at all those 3DS attempts to reboot the same NES game and tell me that’s not slop?

Pokémon is seeing the worst quality of the whole franchise on Switch and apparently Pokémon Go was just to train military robots or some shit. You’re really gonna look at 3DS models in a Switch game and tell me that’s not slop, my opinion is just wrong?

Smash Ultimate’s online play has 11, ELEVEN frames of input lag under ideal circumstances, the metagame has been busted since Steve, DLC characters are OP, patches were promised, then canceled, and support is over now. You’re really gonna tell me that’s acceptable, totally not slop, my opinion just sucks?

I hope you play Switch games forever, and I hope you love it.

Nintendo churns out the same slop franchises year after year and aggressively sues anyone for anything.

Sony (somehow) believes that investors are what give their company value, not customers, and certainly not employees. They’re abandoning physical media and not backing down on their anti-consumer practices that only continue to get worse.

Microsoft has become the new EA, aggressively buying up every single schmedium-sized gaming studio they can get their hands on, mismanageing them all into the ground, then selling them off for parts to save their own asses while leaving talented studios to die on the vine. They’re basically buying the right to scrap their competition and they’ll get away with it because they have enterprise IT subscriptions to absorb the losses.

AAA gaming is dead. And greed killed it. I’ll be playing indie PC games and emulators for the foreseeable future.

That depends on what you mean by “using furniture”. The mechanics have always worked, so I’m assuming your asking, “have animations been added when using furniture?”

You sit down in chairs or on the side of beds when you sit to rest, but you still don’t climb in/out of beds when sleeping or sit longways like some mods allow.

Of all the stuff that’s been added and is still missing, I don’t really care if they ignore minor cosmetic stuff like this for a while. Towing needed to happen, but it’s still implemented poorly. Sports cars tow better than pickup trucks for some reason and nothing can tow faster than about 35 mph. I’d much rather that be fixed than focusing on “would be nice” stuff like animations for minor actions.

Boycotts don’t have start dates. They happen as soon as someone says it happens and you’re either in, or you’re out.

Boycotts don’t have end dates. They happen until demands are met. If that means you never buy/do that thing again, so be it. If you’re not prepared to commit all the way, don’t participate.

Over time, the definition of “boycott” has been watered down to make people forget what makes a boycott effective. People have forgotten that the Montgomery Alabama bus boycotts lasted for literal years and saw people donating time and money to fixing up old cars, horse-drawn carriages, and carpooling to make them effective.

If you want real change, you have to be prepared to take real action. This one week boycott is pussy shit and won’t solve anything. If you’re gonna organize, do it for something that will work.

The boycott begins today. Right now. No more PS+ logins or payment. No more buying new games or consoles. No more anything that puts money in Sony’s pocket (buying used is fine, that money only goes to the reseller) and it lasts until Sony reverses its decision to stop printing physical games.

If we want to continue boycotting until they revise their digital licensing, we can demand that once we’ve made progress on the physical media. That’s what everyone cares about, so let’s keep the demands short and simple with that as the only one.

They’d work if people would commit to a full, indefinite boycott until demands are met. This “one week boycott” shit is controlled opposition pushing a narrative that a one week boycott is an appropriate response to something like this.

Boycotts with deadlines expressed in terms of dates on a calendar have never been effective at anything besides making people think they’re accomplishing something.

A boycott with a deadline isn’t a boycott; it’s barely a demonstration. A boycott is until demands are met, no sooner. This is controlled opposition. If you want your demands met, don’t waste your time organizing for anything less than a real (full, indefinite) boycott.

There are distros designed for your use case. Research “portable” distros to get what you’re after without having to crowbar it.

I usually open a document and type notes to myself. If I followed documentation, I’ll link it and download an offline copy in case it 404s one day. I also export configurations to csv or json and link those.

Something else would probably be better but it works for me and for what I do.

You own the games you buy from Steam too. The license you get is the same one that comes with a physical copy. You don’t have to launch the game theough Steam or even have Steam installed to play. Once the files are on your machine, you can launch and run the game just like you installed it from a disc.

Oh, well since Nintendo “voluntarily” paid the tariffs, by their own logic, that means they’re not entitled to refunds either, right?

Ive heard a lot of hype around this game, but when I look at the store page, it says there’s like $300 worth of DLC, and a bunch of it looks like better guns and stuff.

Is it possible to enjoy this title if you only buy the base game and no DLC? Or are you going to be stuck in an endless grind and always be outgunned by anyone willing to pay $5.99?

I have an old drive I installed Win 10 on a few years ago. It was a fresh build, so it would have been the only drive in the machine when I installed it. The software I need is already installed there and in a working state.

I also have a new machine with a new drive. I installed Mint on the new drive while it was the only drive in the new machine.

My plan is to move the Win 10 drive from the old machine to the new one. In the BIOS, I would set the Linux drive as the default boot option. When I need Windows, I would boot into BIOS and select the Windows drive as a one-time boot option.

Am I on the right track?

Can’t think of any that started with 2, but there are many examples of sequels making their way to the states masquerading as the first title in a series.

Shadow Tower released on PS1 in Japan only. Shadow Tower 2 was released in Japan on PS2, but when it was released in America, it was just called “Shadow Tower” since no one had heard of the first one.

Not a 2, but there was Clayfighters 63 and 1/3. But that was just a play on the “[Name] 64” naming convention that N64 games commonly used.
