    Terraria. Hate me.

I am not the fan of looking up guides and other info out of the game, and I also kiiiinda suck in full sandbox due to, generally, not being good at setting my own targets.

Like give me some final task and I am happy to work towards it, but with no target whatsoever I am kinda lost.

However, last I played Terraria was decade ago so stuff may have changed. xD

  • If that’s the trend of the franchise I sure won’t be touching any of the later ones.

Good news! It’s prolly not. In an interview I’ve read quite some time ago, creators said that they hit a silly problem of not having path of improving the game because everything works and…well, not much to add.

So instead they experiment slightly with each version, making small changes every time to create another “flavor” of Civ.

  • First of all, thanks for all the tips. I tried Sarek back on Nobara, didn’t seem to do much. Then I spent a bunch of hours installing Cachy instead, now on it, works faster than Nobara, nice. And Sarek is built into their proton version, so doubly nice.

Sadly, Hogwart is still no go for me. Probably will still reinstall Windows to finish Hogwarts legacy ( I really got into it :| ) and then we’ll see. But sure as hell I feel more prepared for my jump to linux now.

I also tried checking the power state with commands you gave me and they failed. With ls’sing drm I found out card was instead card1 (…why?), but I lack pstate. Had power_state, that show only one record with cat which was D0. Whatever it may be. :| Maybe some CachyOS thing? Not sure. Found also /sys/class/drm/card1/device/power directory with “control” file, but cat’ing that shown only one line auto. So I am out of ideas and too scared to try something weird with it xD

Updoot: Found out in nvidia app that I should have two performance settings, with one vastly higher. I can OC my card in this menu, but cannot change performance mode so kinda afraid. Found out about and installed gamemode, then hooked it up in Heroic Launcher. Hogwarts still isn’t talking, but seems to work better before crashing? So other games at least should work smoother.

  • All my games work like shit :(

And it’s kindof my fault because my hardware is outdated but while on Windows Hogwarts Legacy worked, in pain but worked, and Fallout 76 was fully stable and smooth.

On linux (Nobara), Hogwarts CTD’s on startup (shaders or something fails) and I had to lower setting in fallout to get it stable enough to play.

Bit I just began my adventure with linux as main OS so there’s still a lot to learn. One of stabilising things for Fallout was, for example, forcing dx12. Without it it froze my whole os sometimes. :(

Oh and KDEConnect reports it crashed for some reason if it cannot immediately connect to my phone. Which was funny until notification spam.

If I cheat to fix a bug or bypass some weird glitch, not cheating

If I cheat for fun or to bypass part of gameloop/gameplay, that’s actually cheating and it’s fucking shameful, but as long as I play alone and don’t boast, who cares.

If you cheat and then try to boast, you’re a lying scum not worth of whatever you achieved in game. If you cheat in multiplayer, same. Any other case, whatevs. And I consider unlocking achievements via cheats boasting, that’s what they are for after all.

  • Hey, what you descibe is a power user. And that’s valid, but power users also don’t tend to have problems with linux, and they ain’t anywhere close to majority of computer users. Also, to even download a game nowadays you need to have store installed so that’s crossed out, and then game drivers are installed by the store so (or added to cd installer in ye olde times) so wtf you on about.

But again. You are power user. Linux is, IMO, better than Windows for power users because you can do whatever with it. Windows is, however, better for granny, weird office lady and that quite dense kid who, while wanting to use computers, cannot be bothered to learn anything more than where the web browser icon sits.

  • Is it? For most users, windows takes care of absolutely everything and if something lacks, just google, download and done, especially because most software is written for windows. With Defender they even removed need of antivirus for a normal user.

If something lacks on Linux, half the time you need to say hello to console. You also need to learn about software alternatives, because there’s high probability that the default, well known option won’t work.

To both of which most people will say no to from the very start.

  • Chillax is known to wipe floors with players tho, because she’s not really that more lenient, she’s just lazy. Delays the raid, so you build up wealth and then boom, Army of Armaggedon at your doors.

Randy is…Random. You may get 10 raids one after another, and strive to survive with great losses. Or you may have a few chill seasons to build up. It’s…fun. It doesn’t try to actively kill you, it doesn’t feel just delayed, it’s just story generating.

  • He never was. When teenagers used to scream n-word for shit and giggles, he was monetarily incentivised to do stupid stunts. No belief behind, other than to have a laugh and jump in views. When he crossed the line and was critised for it, he backed off, apologised and learned from his mistakes.

But people love draging it out each and every single time he does anything, be it good or bad.

  • In short, a bunch of years ago he did some stunts for publicity that put him in a bad light. And don’t get me wrong, he deserved criticism back then. But it quickly became apparent that it wasn’t his view, but just that - a publicity stunt, something to drive algorithms etc, and he also apologised for it and what’s more important, didn’t make similiar shit afterwards.

So no, not a nazi. In the past you could call him edgy or something, alas even that doesn’t really fit as he didn’t do this all the time. But people saw he is popular and saw what he did and decided that no matter that these were one-offs, he must be a nazi, secretely harbor a shrinet o Hitler and all that.

Throwing it out there - I am tired of left always acting as if something done decade ago was still fresh. Pewds changed, he flipped his whole video formula, and even back then evil things he did were at least questionable. Let it go folks. You are doing nothing else than making yourself look like bitter old people.

Edit: I noticed it’s not obvious what I am talking about. Other comments. People constantly talking about how Pewds is a nazi.
