Valve has said repeatedly they won’t subsidize it heavily because it’s more of a generic desktop than the deck was. A low subsidized price could attract buyers that wouldn’t spend money on games (ie. using for office machines)

If he’s in the files it’s strictly to tear Jeffers apart for submitting a shit code patch and wasting his time.

Split fiction was great fun for my partner and I, the story is mid but gameplay is probably the best action adventure coop I’ve played. It has so much variety to offer.
It’ll need to be some very low settings to hit 4k @ 90fps minimum. Sacrificing frames or resolution in VR is a non-starter. I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, but sounds extraordinary craptastic to me.
Yes it can be used standalone, however Quest games are built for the Quest. Frame games are PC games translated to ARM. That’ll unlock a lot of games for standalone use, but I seriously doubt it’ll have the resources for something like NMS to run on it’s hardware.

And a Nintendo costs $500

The controller was absolute garbage! The analog sticks would get snagged where the battery covers split. Batteries on the front for who knows why.
Lol mine’s living in the closet now and thankfully all those games have released for the PC Gabecube. I’ll keep the hardware as a fun experiment in history though.

Ouya wasn’t all bad though! Some great games came out of it. Towerfall and Bombsquad are still favorite party games in my house. No Brakes Valet and Hidden in Plain Sight also still get played occasionally.

Rockstar announces GTA6 will be delayed into 2027 after firing 220 additional staff members…

I’ve been using this Qobuz client for Linux, it’s electron but seems to handle HiFi - at least to my untrained ears.

Valve and Lenovo released a SteamOS machine not long ago, and it showed marked improvement in performance over windows. Then people have been installing bazzite on the Rog Ally and reporting 30% fps gains on identical hardware over the “xbox optimized” W11. Microsoft might have money but I’m not convinced they have the competency to compete. They’re trending towards digging their own grave in the portable market.

What are you buying? Groceries, maybe I can swing something during the winter sale.

That’s a very specific and interesting exclusion, weird. Well sorry dude, best of luck finding something that works.

I use notesnook but I don’t self host, just the app locally. It has an option to insert a task list into the note, and that has drag and drop reordering. It also encrypts at rest, and has text search. Hope that helps your decision.

Yeah sorry, didn’t intend to discourage anyone from the deal - it’s great hardware at an incredible price. If you’re indifferent on the screen or it’s not applicable to your use, you know who you are and should jump on it. If you can’t reasonably swing the dollars for OLED, you should also jump on it.
I still wouldn’t recommend LCD over the OLED, it’s undeniably the better configuration for handheld gaming.
