Are they all your phones, or different house members? Can you “pool” your photos together?
We’ve been doing this with all our phones for a long time using nextcloud. I’d like to use a more photo-oriented app, but the last I tried it, it just wasn’t there yet.
Can’t rotate or do basic edits in web app, dead to me.
Also can’t really sync and share with rest of household. Auto sync to phones is also a must.
I was seriously unimpressed with its features, and I’m not bothering with it again anytime soon.
Bro looked at pillows, water mattresses and swimming pools, then decided that his house’s brick wall was the best option for banging his head against.
Sure, you didn’t have to pay extra for it, but the headaches are on you.
He doesn’t 1) install, 2) approves any bowl, 3) or should he. He can refuse to make bidet seats any time, but prefers wașiki seats instead.
He directly provides releases for Windows x64/ARM64, Linux x86_64/ARM32/ARM64 (in AppImage format), and macOS. He also explicitly forbids modifications, and since he considers “pre-configured settings” to be modifications, and this is basically barring any other distribution.
So while ultimately you’re right in that he doesn’t install it himself, he provides a super-simple “do it yourself” kit for people who live in apartments, while making anyone else who lives in a house have to assemble it from a million separate pieces themselves.
Note that I’m sympathetic, and I don’t know what the solution here is, but hopefully everyone figures it out…
My take on a better analogy:
The bidet maker is pissed because people complain to him that their bidet is leaking or has cracks. He’s annoyed at a distribution/installation company because they fumbled, so he’ll handle installation himself but only to the houses he approves.
Oh, and the bidets are free and nobody gets paid a cent.
I’m in Europe, and my debit card says visa. That’s the part that confuses me…
To this day, I don’t understand why Visa or MasterCard (or even a “physical” or even virtual card) are necessary. If the banks can’t create a global, shared way of processing payments, then the governments should step in and do it for them.
It figured out the issue with my front panel 3.5 audio jack not working when I plugged in headphones in my Mint desktop pc.
AI is decent at combing through all that documentation and forum posts and getting to a sensible approach.
I feel you, I’ve spent so long grinding drivers licenses and playing absurd cups like that. Unfortunately not many options, and even Motorsport was… meh.
Project Cars 2 is a frequent recommendation, but it’s delisted. Then there’s mods for other games, like automobilista 2, but not official. I wouldn’t expect much from AC Evo either, with how the launch was basically online-mandated and the series not having much of career mode…
I never understood the fixation on IPs. For a kick ass universe with amazing lore etc, ok sure.
I mean I love Jeb and the gang as much as the next guy, but they’re not core to my enjoyment of KSP1. The mechanics were.
I appreciate the post and the recommendations, but none of these games scratch the same itch that Forza Motorsport is meant to scratch.
The alternatives are the competitors like ACC, Gran Turismo 7 or iRacing (possibly race room) - games focused on the realism and online competition.
To be fair, I’ve read that Sandfall also outsourced a lot of work for Expedition 33, which is how they’ve kept the team small.
I see no issues with outsourcing if done right: not every small developer needs to have a motion capture crew, etc.
If there are companies out there that can provide that for you at a reasonable cost, then you just need to focus on the core gameplay and the artistic aspects of your game.
This way you don’t bloat your headcount with hundreds of people that you’ll have to sack after the project is done, seems like a win for everybody.
I don’t know that I can handle more immersion in the Portal universe, I kinda like being reminded that a 4th wall separates me from murderous unscrupulous AIs.

The market is shifting…
For at least half a decade I’ve been seeing computers - both brand-name laptops as well as custom built desktops - sold with FreeDOS as default, and you have to pay extra for Windows.
The most important part is that you wouldn’t get a pc with an instant desktop experience that would just let you just boot up and go to Facebook or whatever, so it had little chance of actually harming Microsoft.
This may actually change things!
Of course I am, there’s no way I can escape mkvs. It’s not too bad if it doesn’t have to transcode the actual video stream, but having to burn in subtitles is a common issue 😭
I still can’t play my videos on Firefox without transcoding them, so I honestly hope they get it right this time.
It’s based on guessing what the actual worth of AI is going to be, so yeah, wildly speculative at this point because breakthroughs seem to be happening fairly quickly, and everyone is still figuring out what they can use it for.
There are many clear use cases that are solid, so AI is here to stay, that’s for certain. But how far can it go, and what will it require is what the market is gambling on.
If out of the blue comes a new model that delivers similar results on a fraction of the hardware, then it’s going to chop it down by a lot.
If someone finds another use case, for example a model with new capabilities, boom value goes up.

I always wait for the prices to drop before buying any game, and never ever pre-buy them. The only exception is early access from indie devs, I’ll help them along if they show promise.
