And I still feel like their definition of playable is a bit narrow. I regularly play “unplayable” games on my steam deck without much issue. You just might need to fiddle about with the controller settings, compatibility modes and use the built in magnifying tool and keyboard once in a while. It’s really not the end of the world.

Alright, fair. Noted. Just because their marketing calls it ProRes RAW doesn’t mean it is true RAW. I didn’t look into it that much.
What I do know though and what my point was about is that it makes big files fast. Files of a type and scale you can’t effectively do anything useful with on an iPhone itself. So if you want to edit them (and why else would you shoot in that format?) then step 1 is that you want them off the phone and on a platform that can deal with them. And for that transfer speed matters.
There is at least 1 use case for it: some of the newer iPhones can shoot raw format video. Apple calls this ProRes. It is also possible to take those videos as large as 4K. This comes out to about 6GB per minute of video taken.
Imagine someone like a YouTuber decided to take a couple of 20-30 minute clips. Yeah, I wouldn’t want to wait for wireless transfer on that. Especially not if that is a regular thing someone does.

And I’m ready for the Reddit breakup. I haven’t even received a warning or anything like that, but found out half of everything I ever did on there was shadow banned. I’m done giving that page my attention. Next step is removing all of my history so that my comments and posts that they deemed “wothy” don’t bring traffic to the site. If I can still be bothered after I’ll see how long it takes me to speed run a ban.
Have you ever actually tried one out? I’ve got pretty weak arms and wrists, but I usually play with my arms resting on something. It’s not like I’m holding it out in front of me while playing. Doesn’t feel natural to hold it up like that, but it would be a bit heavy if I tried long term. I even added the cover dbrand sells which added another bit of weight, but my arms are supported so I really don’t care.
