Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Wife was using the Deck, I wanted to play on the couch, I had to get creative
61·1 year agoYou must be mistaken. You are married so that is your wife’s steam deck, so is the 2nd one you are planning to buy. Maybe doing a sexy dance will get you some time with it?

Games@lemmy.world•The $700 price tag isn’t hurting PS5 Pro’s early sales
111·1 year agoWell no one is saving for retirement anymore. Climate change will take care of that. Live it up.

Technology@beehaw.org•New oven and they lock the air fryer functionality behind wifi.
14·1 year agoI bought one of those ge induction ovens to swap out a gas one. The only smart feature I liked was the ability to turn my oven on to preheat from my phone. Guess what feature just doesn’t work no matter the tech support help i get with it.

Games@lemmy.world•Why do Counterstrike and the other top 10 games on Steam NEVER change?
1152·1 year agoI’m in my 40s and I’ve been playing counterstrike since I was in my 20s. I play other games briefly but anytime i’m bored I still hop on CS. It’s a habit like checking your locks 3 times or taking your clothes off to poop

Android@lemdro.id•YouTube Premium is getting a big price hike internationally
9·1 year agoIf you’ve followed the YT news you’d know this isn’t true. They literally advertise sex to kids in the ads. I watch a bunch of travel people, animal and history programs, and woodworking/handyman stuff. Never once clicked on a short cause they don’t cast. Every day they put up some Korean cheerleader or other bullshit I don’t give 2 shits about. YT algorithm is manipulative as fuck and sucks now. I get most of my vid referrals from outside sites.
When UI/UX was becoming the hot ticket in the late 90s/early 00s, the lesson always beaten into your head was to make navigating simpler, with the fewest clicks possible. Now they bury everything.
YouTube used to let you make playlists on the fly, now you have to click into a small sub menu that is hard to touch without stopping the current video. Even disconnecting from a network is now an extra click than it used to. Google designers have totally lost the point. They are the reason people pay more for less with an apple phone.

Android@lemdro.id•Google is preparing to integrate Extra Dim into Android's brightness slider
58·1 year agoNetflix won’t follow it. I have to use a pirate app to watch their shows in the dark cause the lowest brightness it allows is supernova

Technology@lemmy.ml•US Gov to explore requiring 3d printer manufacturers and software developers to contain controls to prevent users from manufacturing firearms components
46·1 year agoAre they going to require government monitors if you own a CNC machine next?
Cause it has to memorize everybody’s number just in case you decide to call it. That’s why your cell phone doesn’t need a rotary dial anymore.

There are other Japanese ran and designed font foundries. The US ones have had crazy pricing for a while so I’ve been using maniackers for decades now.
