damn look at all the free marketing nvidia is getting with the memes. Idk when people will learn that if you aren’t into something it’s best to ignore it and not generate buzz about it.

It’s a weight tracking app. It keeps all the data locally and keeps bugging you to back the local data up somewhere. It’s just so subtly good - it has this “stats” screen which is for some reason addictive to keep checking - it shows your current BMI, how many days you have left till your goal weight. It graphs your weight. The log-weight-by-dragging-the-scale thing is also great. There’s 3 total views in the app - that’s it.
I don’t know it’s just sensorially respectful?
Same. I have a router with OPNsense. In the “Dynamic DNS” section I create a “Custom” service with the DynDNS2 protocol. I type in update.dedyn.io as the server address. You need to also get an api key from the desec.io web panel that you input into the username and password fields.
Now everytime the router’s WAN ip changes it automatically edits the DNS zone. So instead of going “your server -> DDNS provider -> DNS CNAME record” it’s just “your server -> DNS A record”
I also have a separate token for my web proxy (traefik) so that it can edit the DNS records to get let’s encrypt certificates through dns challenge as you describe.
As for the desec signups in my case one DNS zone was no problem, but for a second one I needed to e-mail them:
Hello, would it be possible for my newly created account to get one more domain on the account please? I have two personal domains and it would be great if I could keep them both under deSEC
Hi [me], Sure! The limit is mostly there to remind users to enable DNSSEC, but it looks like you’re already doing that (at your old provider).
They asked me to (voluntarily) donate, which I did too.

Heroic Launcher (frontend for Epic Games Launcher) also worked for me on arch linux

If you end up going with Intel anyway, avoid I219-LM (e.g. IBM I340-T2), it has issues where you need to run some commands on startup to disable some of the NIC’s features so that it doesn’t lose connection for a few m every few days. It’s pretty old so you probably won’t end up using it, but just putting it out here.
This is just about VoLTE that’s used for higher bandwidth of voice calls (and HD Voice). Calling works normally, it’s just that they don’t have the “HD+” icon in the dialer, so they aren’t high quality voice calls). It doesn’t impact my life very much but it’s one of those things that are missing.
I don’t think they’re handling their current scale well just in Europe, even. VoLTE works on a limited number of carriers even in Europe. e.g. only T-Mobile is recommended by FP in Poland, but it’s just one of the four large telcos. I wouldn’t expand if I was at that point. Plus, they’re busy with making their support less horrible (see post on their forum) for now.
edit: damn fp6 doesn’t support any Polish carrier, a step down from FP5 https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/9779766652689-How-to-set-up-4G-and-Wi-Fi-Calling
The Fairphone (Gen. 6) comes with a physical switch on the side which, by default, will trigger Fairphone Moments. Fairphone Moments is a brand new minimalist experience to use your Fairphone with fewer distractions. This gives you the freedom to disconnect when you want and stay fully present in real life or customize moments fitted to your own experiences, such as focus and travel modes.

Not the first time for me. For example, on the mobilism (apk piracy) forum, only known mail providers are accepted (e.g. gmail)

Sigh Guardian doesn’t let me sign up for their newsletter on a mailbox.org account, shame, was a nice article.
Maybe linkhut then? https://drewdevault.com/2025/03/27/2025-03-27-Using-linkhut.html
I always wondered why do people use Pocket. I just use bookmarks - for example: on the bookmarks toolbar in my browser, I have a folder named “movies to watch”. I just drag the tabs into that folder. Isn’t that similar to Pocket?
My brain being fried from the brainrot and not being able to comprehend “save to read later” probably also plays a part.

https://github.com/LuckyTurtleDev/docker-images/tree/main/dockerfiles/anki
start with env var sync_user1=username:password or something like that
change server url in anki desktop or ankidroid to what you started in docker
done

As for backup, you can also buy a e.g. Lenovo M920q minipc, buy a pci-e riser, buy a dual port ethernet card, set up Proxmox, set up an pfSense (or OpenWRT, or OPNsense) VM inside, pass-through the ethernet card directly to the VM. The VM is very backupable, since you just copy the VM state and save it somewhere. This would only work for the router though, since the AP’s that’d be running OpenWRT wouldn’t be VMs. This is at the cost of having to deal with an additional layer for the VMs.
I guess the problem you’re asking about in regards in regards to cross-device portability of a backed up config is valid. If you had a four ETH port router, backed up the config, and then uploaded it on a two ETH port router, you’d run into trouble, but I have no experience here.
You can also install OpenWrt on some switches these days (PoE also reportedly works with realtek-poe module):
That way you’d have a fully open OpenWRT-only network lab, so you’d always be working with the same system.

Orgzly Revived on Android, if you’re into emacs org mode. Can sync over git, webdav and dropbox. Probably syncthing too. Samba over Android file protocol with Material Design sadly doesn’t work.
On PC just edit the same org mode notes as in Orgzly, but with Emacs.
So much for “bro RCS is an open standard everyone can implement it bro”
