Google already implement this approach with Push notifications (FCM/GCM) and Hardware Attestation that makes custom android OS/ROM harder to recommend for most people that need for example app that needs good Location service and Phone Payment like Google Wallet.

In my opinion, If sovereignty is the goal i think GTK based DE will be safer than QT based DE.
I am aware of The Free QT foundation And its relation to KDE but in a long term there is possibility of things might get complicated if there is change in policy . And even the QT trademark is not totally free. I’m not trying to start DE war, i love both KDE and GNOME.
I used to install lineage OS on a phone with broken screen. With adb reboot recovery you can boot to twrp and attach a mouse to the phone usb port to navigate.

Not to tinker is a good thing for me at least. Some are Ok using LFS, Gentoo, etc. But distribution like Fedora Silverblue is low maintenance as i just want my task easy and an OS that just works.
It’s not Gross because that feature is optional.
It won’t run on Wayland, and instead using X that makes entire onlyoffice interface blurry. I use onlyoffice only when i need 1:1 compatibility with Microsoft format. I’m Still thankful it is existed.

VLC the media player is using Qt. Unless you talk about libvlc, But why bother when Gstreamer itself is good.
