LoL, we dont. Accounts are issued to individuals. My local sysadmin cosplay group encourages people to make their own instances with small user counts and to federate the services with each other. That way if one users network goes out as residential networks are want to do, communication is not completely down for the collective.
Public facing services should pantamime security best practices. I recognize its not realistic for most solo-home labs, but you can always improve with practice.

Meshcore prefers to rely on volunteer infrastructure, meshtastic is better at ad-hoc networks.
If your going to a concert or convention, Meshtastic would be the better system. If your at home trying to make a local network, Meshcore is the tool for you.
Right now the issue is that they both mostly use the same hardware and there isnt really a method of using both projects on the same device to utilize their best aspects, ya sorta just have to go with what everyone else uses.
There is a joy to being along for the ride, plus it makes you replay titles over the long haul. Terraria always comes to mind and my nerds are running through Valheim for this exact reason (the mist lands are rough).

For Matrix on android, I use Shildichat. Works great, very boiler plate UI and it keeps things simple. I will admit Element for everything else is fine… Enough.

Your admin just needs to have configured the service to except comminication from other servers and not just its internal users.
Teamspeak still requires a license above a small user size, but has multiple clients that can accomodate different target audicences. The TS3 client still looks like it did back in the windows 7 days and the TS5 client is just copying discords homework (Not a clue what happend to 4 and I believe 6 is under development). Both use the same server backend and database structure so both work with one server and different user expirences.
Mumble is still the gold standard for handling large user bases (there is a reason big EvE Online alliances use mumble). It will take longer to set up, the configuration is handled by the server, not through authorized user accounts like TS.
Dito (Synapse server), Element for desktop app and fruitphones, Shildichat for android (its lighter and has an adorable turtle as a mascot).
And seconding the voice coms, the VOIP relay server is a huge pain to set up, same with the registration page. My nerd herd hosts a few services that federated to share services and the admin group just issues people accounts.

Dont knock matrix for being slow, it updates just as fast as anyone else’s network speed is and it is focused on encryption and security. Given [gestures broadly to everything these days] people moving away from major platforms should really take into account their digital footprint and privacy.
IIRC there are fortresses in both, but obviosuly the yellow zones are more popular, for that exact reason (it is gear capped, so the impact of rich players is minimized)
Albions new FW is even more blobfest, but its much more objective and siege oriented after the update. Both games made a fast travel method for players to get to the front, and the timing is more like the alert system from planetside 2. Overall its a big improvment, you can expirence the big battles that the outlands are famous for, but there are no shot callers and people respawn if they get into the zone in time.
EvEs frontlines are very similar, but without a dramatic fight scheduled every 2 hours.
I feel this in my space bones. Been in space since 2013 and can functionally do everything, burnt out in 0.0 about 6 years ago, but keep my sub up and occasionally do the solo roam when I fancy shitting in the space chereeos of my old targets.
Gave albion more than a fair shake and will return every few months, I enjoy the routine of the player housing there and the new FW is a nice change of pace.
EvE still holds a special place for me, but I really disconnected when I left reddit. The shitposting and memes of the subreddit really was the pulse of that game for me, I only wish the fediverse could have such activity, it really kept me connected
Nice, Ive only flown that ship a few times, it feels much to similar to the Orthrus after it was released. Space Lambo that only really shines after you throw money at its fit.
