Is this the one that will support GrapheneOS?
Hard to say for sure. GrapheneOS confirmed on Xitter, but then seemed to immediately backtrack in the next sentence saying “wait for official news”. I’m not sure what that means, is this communication not “official news”? Does only Motorola have “official news”?

It just means that they are unable or unwilling to give further details at this time.
I don’t need further details, I just need confirmation…
But after looking more at this device, it looks like it will cost ~$1800, which takes it out of consideration anyway.
The fuck, my laptop didnt cost that much!
They confirmed it, they literally answered yes.
We’ve already been over this…
Ifs not a “backtrack”, is my point. Nothing about the second sentence contradicts the first.
I don’t agree. “Wait for official news” suggests that the news they just presented is not official and that you should continue waiting for an answer.
I’m actually interested but as of right now it’s listed with no sd card support so I immediately lost interest.
If sd card and/or 3.5mm jack is what you’re after Sony Xperia might just be your best choice. But if recent sony is anything to go by we won’t even have that soon enough.
Oh well… let’s hope linux phones become mainstream by then.
It’s funny you mention the Xperia, I’m still rocking my Xperia 1 V. It has some flaws but for the most part it’s been a great phone. I was considering their newst one but I was disappointed to find the changed the aspect ratio. I’ve gotten used to the akinny long form factor.
Here’s hoping for the Linux phones. I have the Jolla phone hopefully arriving this month. I’m still compromising with that because it has no HDMI out so I can’t use it like a porta-pc. But I want to give it a fair shake.
As an ex Xperia and current JP 2026 owner… it is fine.
No display out is a bummer, as is no 3.5mm but at least sd card is here and their android translation layer is actually pretty decent so Whasapp, my banking app and Eternity which I’m writing this from all work without a single crash, though some animations withig Android apps are a bit weird. UI is a long shot from Android and is missing some things I never even thought a phone could miss (if you disconnect a wired headphones music just starts blasting without pausing on main speakers and little things like those), but with pachmanager witch applies cummunity made patches to OS it gets a pass at least. Hardware is good, it is software that drags it down, as is usually the case with linux phones, but that can be fixed in future.
Hope you can too enjoy your Jolla Phone!
Wow, thank you for the comparison and info. Crazy to find someone in such a similar boat. I’m fully expecting the software to need fixing and tweaking but so long as there is an active effort I’m into it.
I’ve dove into several well intentioned open source projects head first only for them to be abandoned by the time they arrived… glairs over at Mycroft box
No 3.5mm jack nor radio either :(
Those are becoming incredibly hard to find… https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nYearMin=2026&chk35mm=selected&idOS=2
My Nokia 110 4G has microsd, 3.5mm jack, a radio and a 12 days of battery life if that is all you require.
Unfortunately I live in a place where Whatsapp is really ingrained in daily interactions.
I’m considering a bar phone, but with Android: https://www.dumbphones.org/?region=Europe&whatsapp=Yes&signal_app=Yes
I had a Samsung xcover 6 pro, dual Sim, removable battery, audio jack, micro sd
it was a bit big for my standards, I’m happier with my pixel now
Yes, I had it on my radar for a bit, the size was definitely a concern
Tf is that camera layout
I like the spider eyes.
All I want to know is if it has satellite communications and the battery life
