    have one friend who does that and also uses texts as if they were emails (i.e. for random info that doesn’t need immediate attention).

    That’s a valid use for texts? Calling is for immediate responses text is for whenever you feel you can get around to it.

    Email is for attachments because, honestly, who emails each other when texting and IM exist

      Email is like snail mail. It doesn’t beep at you when it arrives, and you check it whenever. Text is like a pager because the audio alert interrupts whatever you are doing.
