I am thinking more relating to how on Reddit you can “message the mods”; is there any function like this on Lemmy, or do I have to message mods individually?

The only way to do this it to report a comment, but then even themselves would have no way to discuss about your report to each other on the platform, they would have to rely on external tools.

So messaging the mods individually may indeed be a better solution, or create a meta thread in the community if the topic can be discussed publicly.

Depending on the community you’re in, express your support for either isreal or Palestine then put your question after it.

I have noticed that gets everyone’s attention

There is no such method, and they may get annoyed should you message all of them at the same time*. As u/Blaze said, your other options are to make a report against a post or comment, or make a “[Meta]” post.

*Depending on several factors that would take too long to explain.
