I’ve got a friend who’s considering one of these so I’ve sent this to him. I must admit I’m intrigued, even though I don’t think this would be a device for me

Not technically a SD but I used it on my Ayaneo 2S. It was fast but felt a bit unstable - updates would often break things so I’d have to roll back
It feels like Plasma Bigscreen needs someone to spin up a distros for it to be easy. I know KDE Neon has a spin so I guess that works, but ideally I think it’d be:
If anyone feels like making a distro like that then that’d be amazing…
Yeah it’s interesting! Not sure if I’d take this exact approach - I really only want one android app so I think I’d be more open to Linux native apps for other things, and also I’d be more inclined to use Plasma than the launcher he went with
I’m open to using a Linux native app for IPTV, but I’m not sure if the provider would work with that - open to suggestions for good native IPTV apps that have a remote-friendly interface

I’d be interested in this! I moved my handheld to SteamOS from Cachy HE because it felt kind of unstable.

Back when I was first trying Linux out on my parent’s PC a decade ago, I’d have agreed.
But these days it’s legitimately easy. I’ve got Mint XFCE on an ancient Toshiba from 2014, Nobara on my gaming system and Fedora on my main laptop, and all of them just work. I installed Linux and the only maintenance is updates, no fresh installs or anything, and they’re all still working years later.
I recently updated to Windows 11 on my Mum’s PC and it took me an hour and a half. She also frequently messages me to ask for support. I wish I could convince her to move to Linux too…
I’m generally a KDE guy but this is clean af
Not sure why you’re getting grief in the comments. I don’t think this is for me but you’ve been transparent about the AI use and it seems like a cool project. Good luck with it!
