Would switch 1 have done anywhere near what it did without pandemic? Every last model of the DS is still incredibly expensive on the aftermarket, due to pandemic. Before that used consoles of previous generations were pretty readily available at cheap prices.

Point being if pandemic made even a bygone generation of handhelds revitalized and holding value for 5 years. It’s impact on Switch 1 sales cannot be underestimated.

We’ll see how the holidays go for Switch 2 without the power of FOMO and existential nomadic existence.

I love my Ally X deck. That’s why I didn’t buy a Thor. I can run emulators on that. I’m afraid to take it anywhere. And yeah, it feels more like the weight of a musical instrument than a handheld device.

It precisely means that is not going to be the case.

The phone will stop getting security updates in less than 3 years. It will still be a perfectly good phone by then. The battery won’t even have degraded out of service life.

Agreed but battery life is clutch with mobile devices. Dead phone batteries don’t facilitate travel. Or waiting for your car to get fixed and having this in the glove box … I mean your argument is basically against all retro handheld devices.

Any Arch/Debian. If you’re picking Distros based on which UI they package, you’re doing your self dirty by ignoring options that might be more what you want. You can always swap out the UI. It’s not a corr part of most distros.
